The Allergy Medical team works under the guidance and supervision of our Medical Director, allergist and immunologist Professor Pete Smith.

Allergy Medical has assembled the team and developed the capabilities to provide unrivalled service and patient care.

DR SHAHRIAR AGHAKHANI

DR SHAHRIAR AGHAKHANI

Graduated in 1998 from Tehran University and attained his Master of Public health/Epidemiology in 2004. He then went on to receive his fellowship from RACGP in 2011. He speaks fluent Persian, Spanish and English.
DR KATE BONEHILL

DR KATE BONEHILL

Graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004. She received her fellowship from RACGP in 2010 She has been working exclusively in the area of allergic medicine since early 2015. Dr Bonehill has a Graduate Certificate in Allergic Diseases from Western Sydney University and is available on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

DR CELINE GOL

Dr Celine Gol completed her medical training at the University of Galway, Ireland. She worked in Pathology for five years as a researcher and university lecturer, before completing GP training in the UK in 2013. In search of sunshine, she relocated with her family to Queensland in 2015. Her other qualifications include a postgraduate Diploma in Allergy from the University of Southampton, UK and a postgraduate Diploma in Weight Management from the University of Chester, UK. She achieved Board Certification in Lifestyle Medicine in 2018 and is working towards Fellowship of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine. She has a strong interest in the scientific evidence behind plant-based nutrition and its application for the improvement and maintenance of health.

Michelle is a graduate of University of Queensland (1995) and obtained her GP fellowship in 2002. She is interested in all aspects of allergic disease and intolerance. In her spare time, she likes to keep fit, cook, garden and chase after her two children and pet chickens.

DR MALAVIKA SUSARLA

Dr Malavika graduated from James Cook University Townsville in 2008. She has spent extensive time studying the field of ear, nose and throat pathology prior to achieving her General Practice Fellowship in 2015. She has a keen interest in immunology and allergy, in particular, the management of food allergies and eczema and devotes her clinical time exclusively to this. She is also a member of the Royal Society of Public Health and is pursuing her Masters in Public Health

Emma Blank

Graduated from Queensland University of Technology in 2005. Emma has attained a Certificate in Paediatric Dietetics from the Royal Children's Hospital Melbourne in 2010, advanced training in the Royal Prince Alfred Elimination Diet, the Sensory Oral Approach to fussy eating, and mental health. Emma has worked with Prof Pete Smith at Allergy Medical since 2013 developing practical, and family centred care for our patients with food allergy and food intolerances.

Kate DiPrima

As an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with 27 years’ experience. Kate is regarded as an expert in treating children who are fussy and picky eaters and have authored and co-authored several cookbooks. She particularly enjoys motivational speaking on trending nutrition topics and is regularly booked as a presenter both locally and internationally. Recent travel has been to the Middle East where Australia is regarded as a world leader in food practices with standards to aspire to. She has been a spokesperson for the Dietitian Association of Australia for the last 12 years which has put her at the forefront of best practice and current trends. She writes weekly columns including one for Body and Soul magazine excerpt distributed throughout Australia in News Corp’s Sunday papers. She also consults to food industry providing expertise in the production and marketing of healthy food to Australians and have recently become a Board Director on the national board of Nutrition Australia
